(26 March 2013 – Hong Kong) – AAC Technologies Holdings Inc. (“AAC Technologies” or “the Company”; HKEx: 02018), a world-leading miniature technologies components solution provider, announced today its audited annual results for the year ended 31 December 2012 (“the year”).

Benefiting from the significant growth of the market for portable smart devices, the Company reported increases of 55% and 70% in full-year revenue and net profit respectively, setting new records for the third consecutive year. Likewise, for the fourth quarter, the Company achieved a new high in revenue of RMB 1,997 million and net profit of RMB 569 million, representing a quarter-on-quarter increase of 18% and 20% respectively. The remarkable results were driven by the growth in international and domestic customers and by the new design solutions adopted by the latest premium smartphone and tablet models.

Following a review of the Company’s financial and operational status and future plans, the Board recommended a final dividend of HK 50.8 cents per ordinary share, making up a total dividend for the year of HK 70.8 cents, representing a total payout ratio of about 40%.

By further enhancing its innovative designs, production capability and quality of customer service, AAC Technologies has grasped the business opportunities brought about by the strong emphasis on better multimedia user experience. The Company has also captured significant market share from existing and new customers. The returns on its previous R&D efforts can be seen as the take-up of new solutions such as the dual function speaker box with antenna is rising. This further strengthens the Company’s position as a preferred acoustic solution provider for handheld smart devices.

Gross profit margin in 4Q rose to 45.2%, supported by the favorable shift in product mix and operational efficiency enhancement measures. By the end of 2012, the major phase of automated production has been completed. This signifies a big leap in the Company’s production capability and efficiency, which can not only significantly improve product quality but also mitigate the adverse impact of China’s rising labour costs in coming years.

Tablet is expected to be one of the most rapidly growing segments in the consumer electronics space. Leveraging its technology leadership, the Company is continuing to commit resources in order to gain design-wins from established players as well as emerging ones in the market. Meanwhile, product development in non-acoustic segments such as optics, radio frequency and haptics remains on track.

Mr Benjamin Pan, Chief Executive Officer of AAC Technologies, said, “The year 2012 has seen the Company beginning to move from a component supplier to an advanced acoustic solutions provider. We are strengthening our R&D capability thereby enabling us to enrich our product portfolio with value-added technology solutions in both acoustic and non-acoustic segments. Going forward, we will continue to drive the company towards becoming a comprehensive miniature components solutions provider for a wider range of applications.”
